SEAG proudly presents this online webinar on vaccinating badgers as a tool that can reduce the risk of bovine TB from wildlife sources, with Dr Lindsay Heasman, Director of Hurst Animal Health.
Lindsay is Project Manager for both the large-scale badger vaccination programme in East Sussex that commenced in 2021, and the recently announced Badger Vaccination Field Force. The success of this trial project area has led to approval for the rolling out of this programme more widely. In 2026, areas of Shropshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire will be vaccinated as part of the new Badger Vaccination Field Force project, whilst the successful VESBA project in East Sussex will continue for a sixth year.
Keeping our alpacas safe from TB by various biosecurity measures which we can all take, is a first step.
